What is on your mind and what is on my mind? From the fullness of the heart, speaks the mouth. So that what is important to us, that is what we talk about all day. That indicates what takes priority in our lives what are we full off. Are we busy with money? A lot of people can talk about money, other people talk about their pains, their sufferings. Some Christians talk about how they suffer for God. Each of us has something that we get excited about. The question to you and me is: Are we really excited about Jesus? What is the subject that we can talk about just at the drop of a pin, just like that? What excites us?
People have a problem testifying about Jesus. They need attend special classes, like a sales conference to teach him how to sell. If I need be taught to tell people about Jesus then I have a problem. Then Jesus is not real to me.
The more I occupy myself with that which I am interested in, the more it becomes real to me. The more I find out about that. If I have Jesus on my mind, that is the only thing that you will find me talking about.
Holiness is such a drag it is not talked about in churches, it is not preached about. When you start talking about holiness and sanctification then you get all these sour faces. But what does it mean?
Holiness means: set apart for the explicit use of. It is like your mother’s special cups and saucers that are only for special people on special occasions. If I am reserved for Jesus, just for Jesus set apart for Him, that is holiness. If I really love Jesus I will just want to find out more and more about Him. What does He want of me? How can I please Jesus? How can I get closer to Him so that I can hear what He wants from me, so I can get to know Him better? If I have Jesus on my mind, that is what I will talk about. If I don’t have Jesus on my mind I won’t go to heaven, I won’t spend eternity with Him. Jesus is heaven and heaven is Jesus, it is being with Jesus is heaven. People want all the nice things from Jesus, they want to pray for their own desires, they want God to bless them - Jesus is the blessing. God Almighty is the source. We want everything from God but we don’t want the God that gives the things and then when God gives us the things, we run away with the things and we forget the Giver. We get so occupied with the things that they become our total live. I must be absolutely engulfed with Jesus. When I wake up at night it must be Jesus, when I get up in the morning, it must be Jesus. When I walk in the street it must be Jesus. He must be my total being. He said: Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the other things will be added unto you.
Jesus loves us, God loved us so much that He gave His Son, His most precious Son to come and die, to become a sacrifice for us, to die on a cross the most cruel death, for us for you for me. That was His sacrifice. It was a horrible thing for Abraham when God told him to sacrifice Isaac, the son of promise, the one he waited for, so long. Those three days that it took him to get to the mountain where he was to sacrifice him must have been just pain suffering, but he went he did.
God gave His only begotten, Son through love for you and for me, that which was dearest to Him, He gave to come and die on the cross. He sacrificed Him and now we talk about sacrifices when we have to follow Jesus. If it is a sacrifice, then Jesus is not the center of my being. If there is anything more important, anything that I want more, anything that turns me on, that really excites me, then I don’t love Jesus, then I don’t want to be with Him and He knows that. I must turn away from all these other things and just follow Jesus, that’s what He wants. No baggage, nothing that I take along with me, that’s what He wants. Either I follow Him and I want to be with Him or I don’t want to.
From the fullness of the heart speaks the mouth. If our treasure is in heaven with Jesus that is what we will think about what we will talk about. He will come into our mind, He will reveal Himself to us. He will become all the more real to us every moment, we will become more and more in love with Him. People are in love with rock stars with Christians stars, with the fellowship at church or with other people, other Christians it’s not about people. If it is not Jesus then it’s not Jesus, then it is other things then they take priority in our lives. If Jesus is the center of everything I will seek Him in everything I will see Him in everything, I will see His guiding Hand His Word and His commandments will become so real to me. I will treasure them because those are words of life. He said that these Words of Mine, who ever beliefs and obeys them is like a man who build his house on a rock and when the storms came it stood. Are we built on Jesus? Is our total existence revolving around Jesus Christ? Is He our Rock and our Salvation? Is He our Morning Star? Is He our Cloud by day our Light by night our Shelter? Is Jesus just everything, everything in my live or are there other things that are more exciting, things that I rather talk about places where I rather want to be than with Jesus. Is He priority in my life? If He is not I must reconsider.
Do I really love Him, do I want to be in heaven with Him? If I don’t want to be with Jesus I am not saved my friend. If I don’t have an urge and a desire just to find out more about Jesus every moment more and more and more, then I don’t really want to be with Jesus. If I want to listen to tapes and sermons and want to occupied myself with other people those things take priority over Him and He knows that. Let us consider and let us be real with ourselves and say: Lord Jesus do I really love You? If I don’t love Him that much that He is just everything in my live then I have some repenting to do. I have some reconsidering to do. Say: Lord Jesus please become once again the Morning Star in my life the One around which everything my whole being centers. Lord let me just be about Jesus Christ. Then we can talk about having our eyes on Jesus, following Him and loving Him, having an expectation of being with Him for eternity.
