Who are the tares?
One of the parables of the Lord is coming into fulfillment right now.
We read in Matthew 13:24-30 “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. 27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? 28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? 29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” Go on to Matthew 13:36-43 “Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. 37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; 38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. 41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who practice lawlessness; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
We have this wonderful brand of preaching nowadays that says: we are under grace not under the law. Because Jesus Christ and that He died for us we are now free to sin because according to them Christ died so that we can sin. Jesus did not die so that we can sin, He died so that we can stop sinning. He died for sin.
Jesus did not call us into lawlessness, He did not call us into fleshly desires. He did not call us into lasciviousness, to be free to do anything we want to do, no. Jesus called us into obedience.
This brand of preaching is catching on, becoming popular. It says: I am saved by the grace of God and therefore the grace of God has forgiven all my sins past, present and future. No my friend, that is a lie from the Satan.
The good seed that God sowed are the children of the kingdom. We read it in Matthew 13:38-39 “The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; 39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.”
There is this teaching that says lawlessness is acceptable, we are not under law, we are just under grace. Because of the grace of God, we can just glorify ourselves in His wonderful grace. But Jesus said: If you love Me, keep My commandments. He said we must listen to His voice, do as He tells us to. He commanded His disciples go preach the Gospel and make disciples and teach them “all that I have commanded you”. Jesus said on His sermon on the mountain Matthew 5 to 7: Whoever hears these Words of Mine and does not obey, them not just believe them, but does not obey them he is like a man who built his house on the sand and not on the Rock and when, the storms came his house came down and the falling of that house was great.
And that falling is about to happen now and it will be extremely huge because 99% of Christians believe the social Gospel that says we are saved by grace, they do not need to obey Jesus Christ. What did He say about the tares? We read in Matthew 13:41-43 “The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who practice lawlessness; 42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
The Word of God speaks for itself, the Words that Jesus spoke speak for themselves. He who hath ears let him hear. If you and me want to enter the kingdom of God if we want to be with Jesus Christ into eternity we shall obey Him. We shall take His Words seriously. He said that: My Words that are written, they will judge you in the last day, I will not judge you these Words of Jesus Christ are written they will judge you and they will judge me. His condemnation is on the stumbling blocks, those who belief in eternal security without obeying Jesus Christ. Those who pride themselves in being saved, but not in knowing the Savior, who pride themselves in their knowledge and in their experience and not a relationship with Jesus Christ. He will say to them go away I never knew you. What will be their end? What will be the end of those who preached eternal security and do not obey the Words of Jesus Christ, here is their end. He says in Matthew 13:42-43 ”And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Let us take heed to the Words of Jesus let us take heed to this warning. If I do not obey Jesus Christ, if I do not obey His commands, if I do not have a relationship with Him, if I do not seek a relationship with Him, He will close the door on me, and that door is closing right now. He is sending His Angels out to collect the tares and the wheat, the tares will go into the fire. Are you a tare my friend, or are you wheat? Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ, or are you just merely saved by faith, without obedience to Jesus Christ. Those who have ears, let them hear, let us seek Jesus let us come into His peace, let us come into obedience, let us not be fooled. The storm is coming and the house that is not build on the Rock will come down with a mighty crash. The tares will be gathered, they are not sons of God, they are sons of the evil one. They have been sown amongst the children of the kingdom, that is what God says. That’s not what I say. That is what I read in the Bible, this is what Jesus said.
